The starting pay is $12.00 per hour. We also compensate with a night differential $0.45 per hour for all night hours worked (i.e., work hours between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.) and a weekend differential of $0.60 per hour for all weekend work hours (i.e., work hours on Saturday and Sunday).
The Northern Wisconsin Center (NWC) is looking to fill a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Custodian position in Chippewa Falls. The amount of working hours will vary and could equate to approximately 40 hours per week. The shift is primarily 7:00am-3:30pm, however the individual may be required to work the PM or weekend shift as needed.
NWC is a short-term assessment and treatment facility for individuals who have an intellectual disability as well as a mental illness and aggressive or challenging behaviors. The programming is designed to prepare people to live successfully in a community setting. NWC is one of three centers for individuals with intellectual disabilities managed by the Division of Care and Treatment Services.

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, safe and sanitary environment in the building(s) or work areas. Duties include cleaning and maintaining a variety of floor surfaces; cleaning, sanitizing bathrooms; washing walls, interior and exterior windows/doors; disposing of trash and recyclable materials and restocking supplies. This position is also responsible for assisting in moving freight/furniture and outside maintenance including, but not limited to, mowing grass, shoveling snow, and dispensing salt/sand.
Due to the nature of these positions, all applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by NWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
