The Wisconsin Technical College System Board (WTCSB) has about 50 employees in the office in Madison, Wisconsin. The office provides oversight, leadership and collaboration opportunities for the 16 technical colleges which make up the Wisconsin Technical College System. Position Summary:   The Support Specialist provides a variety of administrative/technical support services to staff for the Office of Student Success and the Office of Instruction. The majority of duties include conducting meeting/event planning support services such as scheduling conferences/calls, reserve meeting rooms and equipment for off-site meetings, ordering catering services, booking hotel rooms and making speaker arrangements.  This position performs on-site registration as necessary. The Support Specialist also provides administrative support to division and the agency. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Student Success.

Special Notes:   Prior to any appointments for this position candidates will be subject to a criminal background check. WTCS does not sponsor work visas.  Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.  Some travel required and applicants must have a valid driver's license upon appointment.   This is not a work from home position.

Qualifications:   Qualified and well qualified applicants will have the following. Please indicate these items in your cover letter and resume:

Qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience doing event planning activities such as scheduling, reserving space, ordering food, etc.

  • Experience with administrative support duties such as preparing documents, taking meeting notes, filing, etc.

  • Experience providing customer service by responding to internal and external customers in a prompt and courteous manner.

Well qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience with account management and reconciliation.
