Starting pay is between $48,630 and $65,520 annually ($23.38 - $31.50 per hour). Pay on appointment for current or former state employees is based on the State Compensation Plan. Current State employees applying as a transfer applicant will require DPM approval for pay on transfer increases. This position is in Pay Schedule/Range 15-03. A 12-month probation period is required.

This position implements the public water supply program including work related to public health, enforcement, data management, contracted county liaison and general compliance and technical assistance. Primarily this position identifies, schedules and conducts field inspections of Public Water Systems and the corresponding reports and communication to affected parties.

Minimally qualified candidates will have: • Experience and/or training in chemistry, groundwater chemistry, geology, hydrogeology, determinative bacteriology, microbiology, or public health sanitation • Training or education in collecting water samples and interpreting water sample results
Well-qualified candidates will have: • Experience interpreting and applying state or federal regulations • Experience collecting water samples and interpreting water sample results • Experience inspecting drinking water systems
