From the Wisc.Jobs Home Page the Job Search that appears can be used to perform a quick search.
With the Job Postings at "All Published," click on the Search button.
To customize your search for job announcements, make multiple selections using Keyword, Job Category, Job Location by County, Agency/Campus, or Work Hours.
If you are a current or former state employee, click on the Current/Former State Employee button, choose Job Search and make multiple selections, including Job Classification, Bargaining Unit, and Pay Schedule/Range.
*Note: Once you perform a search, you can now "Log in to Save Your Search" or "Save This Search." You can also have the results of job searches e-mailed to you when new jobs are announced.
Your step-by-step instructions:
Step 1 – Selecting Criteria
On the Search Page, make multiple selections to customize your search. (You can select one of the options or all of the options.) The options are as follows:
Search by one of five specific time frames including: 1. “All Published” returns all job announcements listed in Wisc.Jobs that are still open. 2. “Since Yesterday” returns all of the job announcements posted in Wisc.Jobs with yesterday's and today’s date. 3."Last 3 Days" returns all job announcements posted in Wisc.Jobs within the last 3 days that are still open. 4. “Last 7 Days” returns all job announcements posted in Wisc.Jobs within the past week (from today’s date) that are still open. 5. “Last 30 Days” returns all job announcements posted in Wisc.Jobs within the past month (from today’s date) that are still open.
Find all job announcements with a specific “Keyword” by entering text into the blank text field next to the keyword field. When you submit the search, Wisc.Jobs will look through all current job announcements for any positions that have text matching your entry.
Search through job announcements using the “Job Category” drop down. Select “All Categories” from the drop down list to find all job announcements from any of the job categories listed in Wisc.Jobs. Select specific job categories to find only job announcements associated with that particular job category. To select multiple categories hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard while clicking the categories of interest.
Search for job announcement by county by using the “Job Location” drop down menu. Select “All Locations” from the drop down list to find job announcements listed for any of the 72 Wisconsin counties available. You can also search for job announcements in a particular county by clicking on the county of interest. To select multiple counties, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard while clicking the counties of interest. Click on the state of Wisconsin icon to view a WI county map.
Search for job announcements at a particular state agency or campus by using the “Agency/Campus” drop down menu (also called “Organizations” on other pages in Wisc.Jobs). Select “All Agencies” from the drop down list to find all job announcements listed for all state agencies and campuses. To search for a job announcement at a specific agency or campus, select the agency or campus of interest. To select multiple counties, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard while clicking the agencies/campuses of interest.
Search for job announcements with particular hours by using the “Work Hours” drop down menu. Select “All Types” to view all job announcements listed for all five types of employment. To find job announcements for a particular type of employment, select the type of employment. To select multiple types of employment, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard while clicking on the type of employment. The five types of employment offered through the State of Wisconsin are: 1) “Full-time (40 hrs/week)” 2) “Part-time (less than 40 hrs per week)” 3) "Shift" (which includes evening 2nd Shift: 3 to 11 pm or similar hours; evening 3rd Shift: 11pm to 7am or similar hours; seasonal: minimum of 600 hrs/yr but less than 1828 hrs/yr).
If you are a current or former state employee, click on the "Current/Former State Employee" button then "Job Search."
Step 2 – Perform Your Search
Click “Search” to begin the searching process.
Note: If your search does not yield any results click “Search Again” on the Job Search Results page or use the back arrow button to return to the Job Search page and revise your search.
Step 3 – View and Save Your Search/E-Notify
View the results of the Job Search on the Job Search Results page. Job announcements are automatically sorted by “Job Title” in alphabetic order. Each “Job Title” also has a “Job Announcement Code,” “Location,” “Agency/Campus,” "Date Posted," and “Application Deadline” field.
Note: You can sort the job announcements according to the fields in the column/heading by clicking on the column/heading.
If you want to save the search criteria you have entered, click on "Log in to save this search," log in to your Job Cart, and on the "My Saved Search" page, name your search in the blank text box. You also have the ability to have the results of job searches e-mailed to you when new jobs are announced. To use this feature, continue on the "My Saved Search" page to enter an e-mail address and choose from the "How Often" drop down and new jobs will be e-mailed to you when they are posted.
Click on the title of the Announced Job to view the text or details of that job.
