Applicants should follow the How to Apply instructions listed in the job announcement to find out how to register for exam centers. The deadline for registration will be posted in the job announcement and on the Monthly State Exams page.
If you have a disability and may need an accommodation in order to take an exam, submit a Request for Examination Accommodation to ESC@Wisconsin.gov. You must notify us at least 10 days before your exam, so that we can make proper arrangements.
Upon completing the registration, applicants will receive an email confirmation with the location, date, and time of the exam, as well as important information about the examination process.
Why do I need to register?
Registering allows us to plan for a space and have an exam ready for you.
How do I register online?
If you have internet access, you can register online at http://Wisc.Jobs. From the home page, click Monthly State Exams from the menu on the left. The Monthly State Exams page will indicate whether the exam center is open or closed for registration. Next, click Exam Center link for the upcoming exam center date (e.g. July 2016 Exam Center). The current exam center page will list all the titles that will be administered in the month and year indicated. Select the title of the recruitment you are interested in.
Read and review the job announcement. The How To Apply section of the job announcement will indicate if you need to register to take an exam. Follow the instructions to complete the registration process. Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive an email confirming the location, date, and time of the exam.
I donít have internet access. How do I register?
There are many locations which provide free internet access. Your local public library or job center should be able to help you. If you need additional assistance, you can contact the Wisc.Jobs Help Desk at (608) 267-1012 or WiscJobs@Wisconsin.gov.
What happens if I just show up?
If you report to an exam center and you have not registered, we cannot guarantee you an opportunity to complete an exam. Registered applicants will be given priority and walk-ins will be first-come first-served based on space and exam booklet availability. All applicants should have their Wisc.Jobs Applicant ID
Can I take more than one state exam?
The exam center is available for four hours. You may take more than one exam providing you have enough time to finish the exams within the four-hour period and have registered for each exam. Unanswered questions will be marked as incorrect and you will not be allowed to take the exam again until your next retest date. The retest date will be listed in your Wisc.Jobs Job Cart.
What if I donít have or forget to bring my confirmation email?
The confirmation email contains important information regarding your registration and exam process. If you forget the email, inform the proctor you have registered. The proctor will check the list and provide you with your Wisc.Jobs Applicant ID Number. The Applicant ID Number is required to complete a state exam and is provided in the confirmation email and can also be found in your job cart.
What if I register, but then change my mind about the exam location?
If the deadline hasnít passed, you can log into Wisc.Jobs and update your responses. You will receive a new confirmation email. If the deadline has passed, use your confirmation email to check in and complete the exam at a different location. We cannot guarantee you an opportunity to complete the exam.
What if I registered, but canít attend the exam center I registered for?
You do not need to confirm or cancel your attendance.
If you registered for a Saturday exam center, but were unable to make it, you can register for the Monday exam center by calling (608) 266-3637 no later than 10:00 a.m. on the Monday following the Saturday exam center.
Monday exam centers begin at 5:00 p.m. on the Monday following the Saturday exam center in the following cities: Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison and Milwaukee.
When you call, the recorded message will give you the specific exam location in each city. At the end of the recorded message, please speak clearly and provide the following information:
1. Your name
2. Your Wisc.Jobs Applicant ID Number
3. Your telephone number
4. The exam you are registered for
5. The city you plan to test at
After the 10:00 a.m. Monday deadline, applicants who did not register are not guaranteed an opportunity to complete the exam.
If you cannot attend an exam center on either of these dates due to military duty, call (608) 266-1731 to arrange an alternate exam date. Call at least one week before the scheduled Saturday exam date.
How do I check the status of my exam?
If you have a job cart on Wisc.Jobs, you will have access to the following information:

What should I bring to the exam center on exam day?
