Salary:
The starting pay is between $60,000 and $98,434 per year depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 07-02. A 6-month probationary period is required. This position is included in the Fiscal and Staff Services bargaining unit.

The Department of Corrections administers Wisconsin’s state prisons, community correctional centers, and juvenile corrections programs.  It supervises the custody and discipline of all prisoners in order to protect the public and seeks to rehabilitate offenders and reintegrate them into society.  The Department of Corrections (DOC); Division of Management Services (DMS); Bureau of Technology Management (BTM), central office 3099 E. Washington Ave, Madison, WI with easy access and on-site parking.  BTM has two (2) IS Consultant/Administrator opportunities.

Job Duties:   These positions provide leadership and direction to the application development staff; plans and manages the delivery of business systems solutions along with associated application technology for the Department of Corrections (DOC).  This includes systems and project planning, estimating, execution, implementation and ongoing support. These positions work closely with the functional business groups within DOC to ensure effectiveness of system solutions deployed; reviews detailed systems specifications to ensure the development of new systems and enhancement of existing systems is consistent with agency development methodologies, standards and policies; and responsible for the delivery and overall performance of the business systems solution.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Knowledge of problem solving, systems analysis, and program design methodologies; structured analysis and data modeling techniques; generally accepted business practices; MS Project; applications development lifecycle; formal applications development testing methodology; organizational principles and structure of the techniques used in dealing with specialized management problems; and verbal communication skills, writing techniques, presentation and leadership skills.
