Salary:
This position is in the pay schedule and range 81-04. The starting pay range is $16.570 to $27.341 per hour ($34,598.16 to $57,088.01 per year), plus a generous benefits package. A twelve-month supervisory probationary period is required.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is currently seeking a Business Process Manager in the Department of Social Work within the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare.

Job Duties:   The Business Process Manager performs key functions for the UW-Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership for Professional Development (MCWPPD), which provides a full array of professional development and training services to approximately 500 Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare (BMCW) staff, supervisors, and managers as well as to approximately 700 foster families licensed by the BMCW. The MCWPPD has nine (9) full-time staff, three (3) part-time undergraduate and graduate student assistants, and an annual budget of approximately $1.4MM.

The Business Process Manager is responsible for designing and maintaining efficient, effective office processes related to record-keeping, budgetary planning, tracking and control, expense tracking, billing, purchasing, and resource allocation. In addition, this position assures program compliance with contract rules and State and Federal regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising three (3) full-time administrative staff members, one (1) part-time administrative staff member, and two (2) part-time student assistants. The individual in this role will liaison and collaborate with various internal and external groups on financial and program-related matters. These groups include on-campus business units, the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare (BMCW), the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the Wisconsin Training System Partners. 

Program-related duties include consulting with the Director and Management team on goal development; providing research data and budgetary analysis in order to guide the selection and implementation of goals; identifying and researching opportunities for collaboration with other Wisconsin Training Partnerships; and collaborating with the BMCW and DCF to identify ways to better use existing funds as well as to identify new sources of funds. Additional duties include participating in training evaluation and customer satisfaction efforts; assisting in gathering and analyzing data; and performing basic statistical data analysis.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Well-qualified applicants will possess knowledge of record-keeping and office processes in a complex, multi-project environment; knowledge of State and Federal contracting and allowable cost rules; knowledge of data gathering and analysis techniques; and knowledge of standard statistical analysis techniques. Other key skills and abilities include strong analytical skills; the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel and Power Point); the ability to work independently and take initiative in streamlining and improving processes; the ability to effectively build internal and external working relationships; and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. Supervisory skills critical to success in this role include those related to task delegation, performance evaluation, position description development, hiring, and discipline. In-state and/or out-of-state travel will also be required on an occasional basis (approximately one day per month).
