Salary: |
The starting salary is between $135,567 to $176,237 per year depending on an applicant's qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Supplemental pay adjustments between $6.31/hr to $19.50/hr may be given to persons who are Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification in selected specialty areas related to position. A six-month probationary period is required. This position is a pay schedule/range 10/51 and is represented by the Wisconsin Physician and Dentist Association bargaining unit. |

This position is located in the Department of Health Services (DHS); Division of Long Term Care (DLTC); Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) for the Developmentally Disabled in Union Grove.
Job Duties: This position will schedule daily medical services; examine, diagnose, and treat patients; review and record general health status of residents; participate in staffing reviews; provide on call physician coverage; respond to calls from nursing staff; and fill shift during other physician absences. This position will also generate progress notes, admission histories, treatment plans, discharge summaries, physical examinations, and letters; assist in planning treatment plans; and discuss and direct treatment plans. Special Notes: Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of physical examination techniques and medical therapeutics; accurate, efficient and timely medical record documentation; human development and medicine relating to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities; assessment and consultation methods; behavioral sciences; ability and use of proper medical judgement; effective time management; and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
