Position Summary:   
Under the general supervision of the Adjutant, this position is responsible for developing and administering outreach and liaison programs for the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK). Responsibilities include performing interagency, public, and federal Veterans Affairs (VA) liaison efforts; developing, analyzing, and preparing reports, procedures and/or policies for program areas. The position coordinates all special events and visits from external organizations, dignitaries and veteran service organizations. This position provides recommendations to senior management on program issues and acts as a liaison between WVHK and local government and the general community. In addition, this position manages and directs all public affairs, marketing, fund raising, and promotions efforts for the WVHK. The position provides supervision to the staff at the Home Exchange and Volunteer Program. The Agency Liaison is an integral part of the WVHK senior management with requirements to plan, coordinate, and implement agency outreach programs.

Special Notes:   

This position requires frequent travel throughout the state but infrequent overnight or out-of-state travel.  Since some of the special events are evenings, holidays, and weekends; one can expect a few weekend or evening events during each of the summer months and fewer special events during the winter.


Knowledge of volunteer organizations and management

Knowledge of fundraising techniques, marketing and advertising

Skill in computer use, including document management software, graphic or photo imaging software, web page creation and editing software, web platform development software, as well as programs for developing presentations, creating and publishing marketing materials, word documents, and spreadsheets
