Starting hourly pay is $18.06. A $1.20 add-on will be added for all hours worked after initial training period. A $0.45 night and $0.60 weekend differential are also available. A $2000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior state service in the last five years and must stay with SWC for a minimum of one year to retain the bonus. Bonus will be split, $1000 upon hire and $1000 after one year. Pay schedule/range is 06/11. 12 month probation is required.

CNAs at SWC provide care to individuals with intellectual disabilities; provide personal hygiene care to residents including bathing, grooming, and toileting. RCTs also help new residents adjust to their living area; observe and report behavioral, mental, and physical changes in residents; record and summarize information in daily logs, clinical records, etc. RCTs assist seated or lying residents to a standing position by pulling and lifting; and work cooperatively with others to promote a positive living environment.
Due to the nature of these positions, all applicants will be required to allow the Department of Health Services to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by Southern Wisconsin Center or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 lbs, carrying, bending, sitting, kneeling, and stooping. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
All appointees will be required to successfully complete New Employee Orientation training, which includes training in physical control techniques and therapeutic interventions with patients.
Must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed including staying for the next shift (up to 15.5 hours total in one shift) working additional shifts as assigned to maintain facility staffing requirements.
