Customer Service Representative ($15.00-$16.00/hour): Full-time; Respond to routine telephone inquiries from taxpayers related to WI income tax returns. Qualifications: basic computer and keyboard skills; effective verbal and written communication skills and good customer service techniques. Spanish and Hmong language skills are a plus. Approximate duration: Jan.-May(M-F,8:00am-4:30pm)
Data Entry ($11 - $13/hour):Positions in Madison, plus 6 in Milwaukee. Enter data,using a standard keyboard. Verify data from scanned documents in the system, checking for accuracy and make corrections if necessary. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time, while reviewing and keying the onscreen data. Qualifications: ability to work independently with accuracy; comparison skills; ability to Type 45 words per minute/6000 key strokes alphanumeric; ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Approximate duration: Jan-May. (M-F,6:30am-4:30pm)
Scanner Operator ($11-13/hour): Scan tax documents into the system. Move boxes of work to and from shelves as needed. Qualifications: Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time; Ability to lift 25lbs; Ability to handle vibration and noise. Approximate duration: Feb-May. (6:30am-4:00pm)
Mail Opener/Mail Reviewer ($11.25-$12.50/hour): Open, organize, and prep Income Tax returns for scanning. Qualifications: Sit for long periods of time with some twisting to process work; ability to handle repetitive work. Approximate duration: Dec-May (M-F, 7:30am-4:00pm).
Laborer ($11.75-$12.25/hour): Mail room support includes picking, packing, and shipping forms orders. Also slicing, sorting, delivering mail, picking up tax returns prepped for scanning, sorting forms into boxes, and then taking the boxes to scanning. Qualifications: Ability to move for most of the day; ability to lift up to 40lbs and push and pull heavy mail carts; Approximate duration: Dec-May (M-F, 7:30am-4:00pm).
Tax Representative 2, Tax Operations - Income Tax ($15-$16/hour): Review and resolve semi-complex, suspended income tax returns and payments, issue letters requesting additional information to resolve suspended returns. Review requests for information and reply as assigned. Create vouchers for estimated tax return and bill payments and review identification documents. Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills; intermediate computer skills; researching skills; ability to work in a team atmosphere. Approximate duration: Feb-July (Minimum 30hrs/week required). (M-F, 7:00am-4:30pm)
Tax Representative 2, Tax Operations -Business Tax ($15-16/hour): Process data warehouse cases, process returns and payments, incoming mail and other worklist items. Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills; intermediate computer skills; researching skills; self-motivated; ability to switch between tasks; and ability to work in a team atmosphere. Approximate duration: Jan-June (Minimum 30hrs/week required). (M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm)
Tax Representative 2, Compliance ($15-$16/hour): Respond to customer inquiries via telephone and email regarding the interception of refunds against debts to other Wisconsin state agencies. Prepare payment vouchers, determine prorated refunds, research and apply suspended payments, and conduct research on name and identification mismatches. Qualifications: Work independently and perform detailed research and analysis; problem solving, basic math and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain proper telephone etiquette; intermediate computer skills. Approximate duration: Jan-June (M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm).
Excise Tax Assistant ($14/hour): Open, sort and send mail. Manage paper files containing original liquor bonds; Identify closed accounts, scan documents. Qualifications: Accuracy; good verbal and written communications; basic computer skills; flexibility. Approximate duration: Jan-June (M-F, 8:00a.m. -4:30pm).
Financial Specialist ($15-16/hour: Manage returned refund checks; mail documents; assist customer service; assist with electronic imaging; data entry and reconciliation. Qualifications: intermediate computer skills; written and verbal communication skills; good organizational skills; attention to detail. Approximate duration: Jan-June (M-F, 8:00a.m.-4:30pm).
