Starting pay will be $16.05 per hour, plus an excellent benefit package (02-11). A twelve-month probationary period is required. For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
The Division of Wisconsin Emergency Management is seeking candidates with a clerical/office experience, who possess outstanding interpersonal skills, customer service experience, and experience with Microsoft office products. They currently have two vacant operation program associate positions. These positions are with the Department of Military Affairs, Division of Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM), located at 2400 Wright Street in Madison.
Under the supervision of the Training and Exercise Program Manager, this position provides programmatic and administrative support services to the State Training and Exercise Section of the Division, which includes multiple Exercise/Training Officers and Community Preparedness Coordinator. This position involves coordinating various activities for the Division’s training and exercise program in accordance with a wide variety of policies and procedures. This is the sole administrative support position in the unit and is responsible for the overall scope of office management functions and activities for three statewide functional areas with varied customers. This position is responsible for monitoring and evaluating office management and customer support procedures and providing recommendations for improving efficiency and effectiveness of office management activities. It is also responsible for providing general assistance to the Division Management as may be requested.
Under the general supervision of the Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Section Supervisor, the Operations Program Associate will provide administrative and program support to the REP Section and Planning Section. This position will assist professional staff with research and review of federal planning guidance and regulatory directives; inform customers of reporting requirements; estimate budget projections and track expenditures; organize training and outreach events; coordinate activities with external stakeholders; record minutes during meetings and develop agendas; coordinate exercise logistics; pickup and distribute organizational mail; and maintain programmatic records.

This position will participate in emergency response exercises and may assist in the response to actual emergency situations, which may involve overnight travel, with little or no advance notice, for extended periods of time, including weekends and evenings.

2.Accurately and efficiently compose, format, edit, update, reproduce and disseminate various types of correspondence to include memorandums, letters, agendas, itineraries, meeting minutes and other documents as needed.
